The New Pinata File Manager
A few weeks ago, we launched private file support to go along with our longtime IPFS support. Developers had full access to APIs to upload, group, and manage these files. Gateways were updated to support loading these files with signed URLs and from public groups. However, to get this in the hands of developers as soon as possible, we didn’t launch with a web app interface.
Today, that changes.
Private Files
When you sign into Pinata, you will see a clear separation of Storage and Web3. Storage represents the private files we just launched, and Web3 represents the IPFS support you’ve always loved.
The interface allows you to add and remove files, but there’s more to come. Developers can currently add and remove files from groups, make groups public, and delete groups. In the next few days, you’ll be able to do this in the web app as well.
What’s Next?
Our goal is to provide developers with all the tools they need to make incredible applications and make them quickly. To that end, we’ll continue our never-ending pursuit of performance and reliability for IPFS while continuing to offer solutions like private files to the wider developer market. We believe that the compliment of IPFS and private files makes sense for everyone in web3 and beyond.
Happy building!
